• 2022-2023 Students of the Month

     

    SEPTEMBER 2022 STUDENTS FROM MEHLVILLE & OAKVILLE HIGH SCHOOL

    STUDENT OF THE MONTH SPONSOR WAS SARAH CANTRELL W/ TUTOR DOCTOR.

    Ella Burns is a Senior at Mehlville High School where she has earned a GPA of 4.190 weighted.  At Mehlville, she is a member of the National Honors Society, Key Club, Student Council,  President of the Mehlville Drama Club and several other organizations.   She also finds time to be an A+ Tutor, and is active with Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  She is also active in her church with worship team and tech team, as well as Youth Group and student ministries.   Ella plans to attend either Southeast Missouri State University or Missouri State University-Springfield to pursue a degree in Marketing

     

    To quote Tony Brown, Band Director  “Ella is an amazing student, hard working and mature beyond her years.  She is the best example of an outstanding student”.

     

    Her Business Teacher & DECA sponsor stated “She is a natural leader who quietly, steadily, & positively makes everyone around her better.  Her creativity, ability to see the world from different perspectives, & knack for rising to the top are some of her best attributes.”   With these attributes and her drive and dedication, she will certainly go far!

    Thomas Hennessy is a Senior at Oakville High School where he has a GPA of 4.32. Thomas is planning to attend College, but is uncertain at this time as to which one.

    Thomas has played basketball every year of high school and has been a varsity player since Freshman year.  He said it is a PASSION of his and is a way for him to work hard for something and see the results firsthand.  He is also very involved with Special Olympics and the Special School District at Oakville.   He is a member of TREND which promotes safe decision-making  and discourages drug and alcohol abuse.  He believes in attacking everything with a positive attitude and making the best of every situation he is given.  He is a young man willing to accept new challenges.
