On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, Feed My People, a local non-profit Food Pantry and Help Center, will host its 5th Annual Food Pantry Chef's Challenge at Orlando's Garden Events and Conference Center. This one-of-a-kind event occurs during National Hunger Awareness Month, and is a reality-style cooking competition featuring many of St Louis' top culinary talents - all competing for "Feed My People Chef of the Year." The proceeds from the Food Pantry Chef's Challenge will benefit the client programs of Feed My People, which served over 45,000 at-risk persons last year.
Each of the 8 - 10 Chefs is asked to create a savory dish with generous sample-sized tastings for up to 500 people. The challenge is to create this dish using only the ingredients our clients receive in their food bags from our pantry (see attached list). The attendees at this event visit each chef's station to obtain the prepared dish, and every guest then votes for their favorite creation. The winner is presented with a trophy at the end of the dinner.
There will also be the fabulous Delectable Dessert Auction and a Live Auction emcee'd by Todd Thomas of the Cardinals' Organization featuring expierence packages (wine tastings, dinners, etc.).
